4th generation seamstress or sewing newb?

This is my first post and foray into the world of blogging. I wear many hats - daughter,sister,aunt,wife, mother, and have successfully mastered many skills, now looking to the new/timeless skill of sewing. I am the 4th generation of seamstresses in my family, learning  from my mother, who learned from her mother,etc. You could say I am a lapsed sewer -I started sewing simple things for me, then switched to clothes and costumes for my sons when they were smaller, and now that they are teen and preteen and I have some time for me again, I will be returning to sewing for me. And as my title suggests, while I would love to consider myself a seamstress, in reality I am a sewing "newb". Stay tuned for more as I re-discover this timeless art.
